Marine Society visit to Mill Beach, Saturday June 13

Join us for the next Marine Society exploration of  Mill Beach Bermagui on Saturday 13th June at 10.00 am. Mill Beach can be found by turning off at the South end of Cuttagee Beach. Follow the road for half a kilometre and park on the grass area opposite the houses. A track leads down to the small beach there, where we will search for shells to add to the survey that was undertaken a couple of years ago. We will also check out what is living in the rock pools there.

This is a lovely location and we have found  interesting and unusual marine species here before.

An esy beach walk plus some rock and pool scrambling if you like that kind of thing.

Marine Society outing Lennards’ Island

Join us for the next Marine Society outing which will be to Lennards’ Island on Saturday May 16th.

Lennards’ Island is always a great place to go rock pooling, there are always many fascinating creatures to find here.

We will meet at the turnoff from the main Pambula/Eden road at 10:45 for car pooling. We will set off at 11:00. bring a lunch and clothes for all weather. The road to Lennards’ is poor and needs 4 wheel drive vehicles and the climb down to the rock platforms is not easy, so not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.

Our next outing will be to the Narooma Boardwalk on May 31st. That will be an easy walk for everyone. We will meet at 11:30 am at the Boat ramp end of the Boardwalk, north of the Narooma Bridge, turn right and follow the signs. This also is expected to reveal lots of interest.

Michael will be leading both of these walks.
